How can I help?

Couples Counseling/Therapy

Falling in love is exciting and thrilling. When that feeling fades the differences between two people can be the source of disappointment and frustration. Fighting over disagreements can violate the feeling of safety resulting in hurt and resentment. Using the Imago Dialogue we work to restore the connection and love.

The couples sessions are typically 90 minutes. The focus of the session is ensuring each partner feels heard and understood by the other, while developing skills that can be used outside of the session.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is personal and tailored to the needs of the individual. Typical sessions last 50 minutes. Topics are driven by the needs and the wants of the person being served. We work collaboratively to identify your goals, and work together to reach them. Whatever the goals, I work to create a safe space, free of judgment for you to explore who you are, what you want your life to be and the path to get to there.

Clinical Supervision

If you are an LSW working toward acquiring your LCSW you are required to receive Clinical Supervision from an NJ Certified Clinical Supervisor.  Not all jobs offer this perk.
I am a Certified Clinical Supervisor and I teach the Clinical Supervision Certificate course for NJ NASW. My office is located in Highland Park NJ and I am open to providing supervision using synchronous internet and video technology.

I have worked in a number of settings including community mental health with adults and children, with Veterans, and providing intensive in-community (IIC) therapy to youth and families.

Intensive In-Community (IIC)

As authorized through the NJ Children's System of Care (CSOC) I provide brief in home therapy to youth and families in Middlesex and Somerset Counties.

These services are provided in the home, typically in conjunction with the CMO or Mobile Response.

IIC services can only be provided when authorized by CSOC.

LGBTQ Affirming Treatment

My belief is that the LGBTQ population is celebrated for our unique value in any culture.

Suicide Prevention

Much of my career has been in suicide prevention. I have worked as a therapist with children, adolescents and adults, many who have had suicidal thoughts and attempts to end their own life. I also worked as a psychiatric screener in an emergency room, assessing if patients were a foreseeable risk to themselves and others and I was the clinical supervisor for a nationwide helpline for US Military and Veterans, many of whom were experiencing suicidal ideation. I am comfortable sitting with somebody as they explore the roots of the suicidal thoughts, often I find that having somebody truly listen can prevent a suicide attempt, and can prevent inpatient psychiatric hospitalization
